Although this instrument could have a wide application on other vessels it is designed for use in clamping of the aorta. This clamp features jaws that are calibrated at 5.0 mm intervals but are still delicate enough for use in pediatric surgeries. This instrument is designed to keep a firm hold on the vessels that are being occluded but delicate enough not to bruise or tear the vessels thus reducing the amount of damage done to the patient.
